George F. Goosmann, IV

George F. “Greg” Goosmann, IV, a founding partner of Goosmann Rose Colvard & Cramer, P.A., is an Asheville native who received his BS in Business from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1985. He then attended the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL and received his JD in 1988, when he began his law career in Asheville.

Mr. Goosmann’s background is in real estate, and he has performed thousands of real estate transactions from complex commercial transactions to cash land purchases. He has been the recipient of numerous business and service awards. He is also an instructor at the Asheville Board of Realtors and a member of the Real Estate Lawyers Association of North Carolina.

Greg is very active in the community and involved in many volunteer organizations. He is a member of the 40th Judicial Bar, the North Carolina State Bar, and the North Carolina Bar Association.

John R. Rose

John R. Rose is a founding partner of Goosmann Rose Colvard & Cramer, P.A. He is a North Carolina native, originating in Goldsboro and moving to the Asheville area in 1990. He has been in the legal field since 1988 and focuses primarily on residential and commercial real estate transactions.

Mr. Rose received his baccalaureate degree from the University of North Carolina in 1985 and his JD from the Campbell University School of Law in 1988.

John gives back to the local community and is active in a number of organizations. He holds membership in the Real Estate Lawyers Association of North Carolina. He is also a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, 40th Judicial Bar, and the North Carolina State Bar.

Veronica H. Colvard

Veronica H. Colvard is a native of Asheville, North Carolina. She has been working in the legal field since 2004 when she joined Goosmann Rose Colvard & Cramer.  

Ms. Colvard loves Asheville and watching her hometown evolve, so it is natural that she has focused her practice on real estate.  She is proud to complete real estate projects in this beautiful WNC region, which range from residential real estate closings to complex commercial transactions.  

Ms. Colvard attended Furman University in Greenville, SC where she received her bachelor’s degree. She then attended law school at Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in Macon, GA where she earned her JD.

Veronica is active in a number of charities. She is a former Board Member and current member of the Real Estate Lawyers Association of North Carolina. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the 40th Judicial Bar, the North Carolina State Bar, and the North Carolina Bar Association.

Elizabeth L. M. Cramer

Elizabeth “Beth” Cramer is an attorney with Goosmann Rose Colvard & Cramer, P.A., joining the firm in 2007 and focusing on multifaceted commercial transactions and developments as well as residential real estate and business transactions. She is a native of Ohio and moved to Asheville by way of Colorado.

Beth received her BA in International Business in 2002 from Davis & Elkins College in West Virginia, being both in the honors program and on the basketball team and graduating cum laude. She received her JD from the Appalachian School of Law in 2007, where she was Editor-in-Chief of and was published in the Appalachian Journal of Law and graduated magna cum laude.

Ms. Cramer supports a number of local projects and endeavors. She is a member of the American Bar Association, North Carolina State Bar, 40th Judicial Bar, and North Carolina Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division. She also holds membership in the Real Estate Lawyers Association of North Carolina.

Catherine N. Toler

Catherine N. Toler is an associate attorney with Goosmann Rose Colvard & Cramer, P.A. Ms. Toler is a North Carolina native originally from Alliance, North Carolina who moved to the Asheville area in 2013. She joined GRCC in 2015.

Ms. Toler attended Campbell University where she received her Bachelor of Arts. She then attended law school at Charlotte School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctorate. She has been active in the legal field since 1999.

Ms. Toler is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association, and the 40th Judicial Bar Association.

Caitlin Shock grew up in Hendersonville, NC where she still presently resides. She attended Gaston College located in Gastonia, NC where she received an A.A.S. in Paralegal Technology. Caitlin has worked as a real estate paralegal and an estate administration paralegal. She is a North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal and a Notary Public.

Laura Kaye Russell

Laura Russell is an Asheville native and has been with GRCC for almost 20 years. Her primary role for the Firm focuses on residential real estate transactions, and she has 21 years of total legal experience. She received an associate in applied sciences degree in Paralegal Studies from South College and volunteers with many charities. Ms. Russell is a North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal and a Notary Public. Laura is an animal lover and enjoys being outdoors and watching Georgia Bulldog football.

Carey Young was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and moved to the WNC area in 1986. She brings 18 years of legal experience to the firm and focuses on residential real estate transactions. Ms. Young holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Montreat College. Ms. Young is a North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal and a Notary Public as well as being a licensed North Carolina Real Estate Broker.

Michaela Andersen

Michaela Andersen grew up in the mountains of North Carolina before moving to Wilmington, where she found an affinity for administrative support at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Now back in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, Michaela is continuing her studies in business through the University of Alabama’s distance program, with a focus on finance and marketing. Before joining GRCC, Michaela applied her passion for support to local financial advising firms as a receptionist, marketing specialist, and support staff trainer. Michaela is also a North Carolina Notary Public.

Virginia Barnett

Virginia Barnett is an accomplished Real Estate Title Professional with over 20+ years of experience. Living in Asheville, NC, since May 2023, Virginia has worked in various roles, including Escrow Officer and Licensed Title Insurance Agent at Foundation Title & Escrow Series, LLC in Memphis, TN. She is known for her excellent client services, customer experience design, business growth, and cross-functional collaboration. Virginia is also an effective communicator who consistently exceeds growth and sales goals to support organizational success.

She recently moved back from a six year residence in Greensboro. While in Greensboro, Amanda worked with a local staffing agency managing and training staff members.

Tracy Britt is originally from Dawsonville, GA. She moved to North Carolina in 1987 and to the Asheville area in 1997. Tracy has worked in the legal field since 2015 and brings over 25 years of mortgage lending experience with her. She joined GRCC in June of 2015 and works primarily on residential closings. Ms. Britt is a North Carolina Notary Public.

Kimberly Burnette

Kimberly D. Burnette is a Haywood County native and has been with the firm since 1998. Kimberly has 22 years experience in the legal field, 20 of which has been in Real Estate. Her primary focus is on title and public record examinations in support of real of estate transactions and projects. Mrs. Burnette holds an associate's degree in Paralegal Technology from Southwestern Community College. She is also a North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal and a Notary Public.

Bridget de Mattos

Bridget lived in Washington State, Germany and Oklahoma before settling in North Carolina. She graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Business Administration and double majoring in Healthcare Management and Risk Management & Insurance. Bridget has been doing title abstracts and research since 2011. She loves living in the mountains and exploring the Blue Ridge with her family.

Margaret “Mags” Bassett Harmon came to North Carolina from Charlottesville, Virginia in 2006. She has been in the legal field since 1985, practicing law in Virginia and joining GRCC as a paralegal in the summer of 2015. Commercial transactions and LLC/Corporate Formations are her forte. Mags enjoys volunteering for a number of organizations. Ms. Harmon holds a B.A. in English from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from TC Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond and is a NC Notary Public.

John W. Harris

Born and raised in Southwest Georgia, John attended undergrad at Auburn University. After graduation from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer, John worked over four seasons in-house with Minor League Baseball before pivoting into the real estate world in 2018.

Licensed by the State Bars of North Carolina and Georgia, John loves traveling, live music, and any sporting event. However, he is happiest on the hiking trails of North Carolina, preferably with his wife Julia and 11-year old pup, Murphy.

After a career path taking him throughout much of the Southeast, John and his family are excited to finally settle in their new home, North Carolina.

She graduated in 2020 with a BA in Environmental Policy & Justice and has pivoted to real estate law. Maggie has four years of experience working in real estate law and is an NC Notary Public.

Jasmine Lee

Jasmine is a Paralegal with Goosmann Rose Colvard & Cramer, P.A., and joined our firm in 2020. She is an Asheville native who enjoys the mountains and hiking trails. Jasmine received her BA in Political Science and Criminal Justice in May of 2020 from High Point University where she also minored in Entrepreneurship. Jasmine received her certificate in Paralegal Studies from South College of Asheville in December of 2020. Jasmine aspires to become an attorney in the next coming years. Jasmine is a North Carolina Notary Public.

Marcella Lanius

Lauren-Ashley Redmon

Lauren-Ashley Redmon is an Associate Attorney with Goosmann Rose Colvard & Cramer, P.A. She joined the firm in February of 2022. Her practice focuses on Residential Real Estate and Business Transactions.

Hailing from Augusta, Georgia, Lauren-Ashley pursued her undergraduate education at Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, Georgia. She then attended law school at Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in Macon, Georgia where she earned her Juris Doctorate. She was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 2016 and began her legal career at a civil litigation firm in the Atlanta area.

In 2019, Lauren-Ashley traded cityscapes for the mountain views of Western North Carolina. She currently resides in West Asheville with her partner and their two rescue dogs, Miles & Blue. Outside of the office she enjoys flyfishing, gardening, standup comedy, live music, and visiting national parks.

Lauren-Ashley is a member of the Buncombe County Bar and the North Carolina State Bar Association.

Erin Setzer

Erin Setzer is an NC native. She grew up in Mooresville and attended Western Carolina University, where she earned her degree in Sociology. After college, she moved to Wilmington, where she started her career as a real estate paralegal. In 2021, Erin moved to Asheville to be closer to family and to enjoy the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. She loves to spend her free time hiking and exploring, watching scary movies, playing the piano, and doing jigsaw puzzles. Erin has been a real estate paralegal since 2015 and is a North Carolina Notary Public.
